Hardware installation guides should be accessible in multiple formats so that users can access it whenever and however they need to. While the sample guide is a PDF file, it could easily be converted into HTML or ePub format as needed using single-sourcing tools.
If a product is well designed, the software help files are rarely used - but when it is needed, it must be easy to search and irrelevant information must be easy to ignore so the user can resume their original task quickly.
